Re: [46NDA 55REG 39TECH 51013] FW: Fwd: Re: Capt Manish Singh, 9 PARA COMMANDO (SF) Arminder Pal Singh Today at 11:13 AMTo46nda55reg39tech@googlegroups.com, Hi DSR, rang up four times but the phone is switched off. Subject: Fwd:Capt Manish Singh, 9 Para - A request. Dear All, A young Capt, some months ago injured his spine (possibly bullet injury, not sure) and is a paraplegic admitted to the Paraplegic Rehab Centre in Kirkee Cantt, Pune. My sister, who lost her son (4/3 Gorkha Regt) some yrs ago to a terrorist's bullet, regularly visits this Centre, and informed me that the docs want someone to pep/buck him up as he's getting withdrawn. He's compelled to do physiotherapy, so physically looked after, but mentally/psychologically down. He's ex NDA, but I don't know his course/sqn. Request you to pass a message to your friends to see if anyone can cheer him to whatever extent possible... His number: 09552853945, Name: Manish Singh. Unit: 9 PARA COMMANDO (SF) Love, Sheela Jaywant ----------------------------------------- For those who can help, please do. I am no longer Pune based but those who are in Pune, or nearby could visit him at the Military Hospital, Kirkee Cantt, Pune. Calling up is always a nice gesture if you have the time and the inclination.Soldiers are officers and gentlemen so the gentler sex should not be inhibited on this account. Just spoken to his "buddy" (a Unit Jawan) who was with him when he was shot in an encounter in Handwara, Kupwara, J and K with Pakistani terrorists in late 2012. The dying terrorist fired at Manish, hitting him in the spine. Manish is doing his physiotherapy session and was not available. Manish is paralyzed chest downwards. He is 25 and is a bachelor. The motivation levels of the buddy are amazing and touch you. This is what the Army and its support system are all about. Call Manish up if the Idea of India and the psychological welfare of one of its young protagonists who fought for this Idea concerns or touches you. Visit him with a smile on your face, and a hug for him if you can...He is a brave heart. He is from Ludhiana, Punjab. He must know that India is not short of brave hearts across gender and profession and age who share his pride and investment in India. You are surely one such person, aren't you?! Gen Raj Mehta
