CAPTAIN PAWAN KUMAR 10 PARA SF

 As if it were a sign from the Universe, Captain Pawan Kumar was born on January 15, Army Day, in 1993. He found his true calling when, early on, he decided that he wanted to join the Indian Army. After gruaduating from the NDA, he trained to join the Special Forces and became a Para Commando in 10 PARA (SF), known famously as the Desert Scorpions, for their skill and might. It was one of his operations as a Para Commando that showed the country who he was.


In the tumultuous landscape of Jammu and Kashmir, amidst the echoes of gunfire and the looming threat of terror, the Indian Army stands as a beacon of courage and protection. In 20166, after the brutal attack on a CRPF convoy by 4 LeT terrorists, the attackers sought refuge within the walls of the Entrepreneurship Development Institute in Pampore, plunging the region into chaos and fear. The building housed several civilians and hence, the operation was made even more difficult for the Armed Forces.

With the lives of civilians hanging in the balance, Captain Pawan, adorned with valor and determination, led the charge alongside his comrades to evacuate innocents to safety. Braving a storm of bullets and grenades, he climbed tow the topmost floor, confronting the terrorists. head-on. He knew grave danger lay ahead, but his duty and uniform called on to him, and he responded.

As he breached the door, a hail of gunfire pierced the air, leaving him gravely wounded. One of the terrorists shot him at close range, greviously wounding him. Yet, in the face of adversity, his resolve only grew stronger. With unwavering determination, he unleashed a torrent of fire upon the enemy and blocked any chance of their escape. His attack killed two terrorists and his gallant action also set the stage for his team to eliminate the other two terrorists.

He later suucumed to his injuries and lay down his life in the service of his motherland. Though he may have departed this world, his legacy of bravery and sacrifice will forever endure, a testament to the indomitable spirit of those who serve their nation with unwavering devotion.

On that fateful day, amidst the chaos of battle, Captain Pawan Kumar reminded the country of the ultimate sacrifice that the sons of the motherland make, in order for safety and prosperity to flourish in the nation they love so much.
