When Germany is Christian, is India Hindu?

When Germany is Christian, is India Hindu? May 4, 2013 · by mariawirthblog · in Uncategorized Though I live in India since long, there are still some points that I find hard to understand – for example why many so called educated Indians on TV discussion forums become agitated whenever ‘Hindutva’ is mentioned. The majority of Indians are Hindus. India is special because of its ancient Hindu tradition. Westerners are drawn to India because of it. Why then is there this resistance by many Indians to acknowledge the Hindu roots of their country? Why do some people even give the impression as if an India that values those Hindu roots was dangerous? Don’t they know better? Their attitude is strange for two reasons. First, those people have a problem only with ‘Hindu’ India, but not with ‘Muslim’ or ‘Christian’ countries. Germany for example, is a secular country and only 59 percent of the population are registered with the two big Christian Churches (Protestant and Catholic). Nevertheless, the country is bracketed under ‘Christian countries’. Angela Merkel, the Chancellor, stressed recently the Christian roots of Germany and urged the population ‘to go back to Christian values’. In 2012, she postponed her trip to the G-8 summit for a day to address the German Catholic Day. In September 2011, the Pope was invited to address the German Parliament. Two major political parties carry ‘Christian’ in their name, including Angela Merkel’s ruling party. Government agencies even collect the Church tax (8 percent of the income tax) and pass it on to the Churches. Germans are not agitated that Germany is called a Christian country, though I actually would understand if they were. After all, the history of the Church is appalling. The so called success story of Christianity depended greatly on tyranny. “Convert or die”, were the options given not only to the indigenous population in America some five hundred years ago. In Germany, too, 1200 years ago, the emperor Karl the Great ordered the death sentence for refusal of baptism in his newly conquered realms. It provoked his advisor Alkuin to comment: ‘One can force them to baptism, but how to force them to believe?’’ Heresy was put down with an iron hand. I still remember a visit to the Nuremberg castle prison as a school kid. There, we were shown the torture chamber and the torture instruments that were used during inquisition. Unbelievable cruelty! Those times, when one’s life was in danger if one dissented with the dogmas of the Church, are thankfully over. And nowadays many in the west do dissent and leave the Church in a steady stream – in Germany alone over 2 million officially signed out in the last ten years and during a survey in 2011, 5,5 million Germans ‘considered’ leaving the Church – partly because they are disgusted with the less than holy behavior of Church officials and partly because they can’t believe in the dogmas, for example that ‘Jesus is the only way’ and that God sends all those who don’t accept this to hell. And here comes the second reason why the resistance to associate India with Hindutva by Indians is difficult to understand. Hinduism is in a different category from the Abrahamic religions. Its history, compared to Christianity and Islam was undoubtedly the least violent as it spread in ancient times by convincing arguments and not by force. It is not a belief system that demands blind belief in dogmas and the suspension of one’s intelligence. On the contrary, Hinduism encourages using one’s intelligence to the hilt. The rishis enquired into truth, discovered universal laws and showed how to live life in an ideal way. Hinduism (please don’t get irritated by this ’modern’ word. In today’s world it is in use for the many streams of Sanatana Dharma) comprises a huge body of ancient literature, not only regarding Dharma and philosophy, but also regarding music, architecture, dance, science, astronomy, economics, politics, etc. If Germany or any other western country had this kind of literary treasure, it would be so proud and highlight its greatness on every occasion.Yet we Germans have to be content with only one ‘ancient’ epic which was written around 800 years ago and probably refers to incidents around 400 AD. That is how far back ‘antiquity’ reaches in Europe, and of course children in Germany hear of this epic, called ‘Nibelungenlied’, in school. Naturally westerners consider the existence of Sri Krishna and Sri Rama as myths. How could they acknowledge a civilization much more ancient and much more refined than their own? Inexplicably, Indians cater to western arrogance and ignorance by downplaying and even denying their tradition. There is a “Copernicus Marg’ in New Delhi and Indian children do not get to hear in school that the rishis of the Rg Veda knew already that the earth is round and goes around the sun – thousands of years before westerners ‘discovered’ it. (Rg 10’22’14) When I read some Upanishads, I was stunned at the profundity. Here was expressed in clear terms what I intuitively had felt to be true, but could not have expressed clearly. Brahman is not partial; it is the invisible, indivisible essence in everything. Everyone gets again and again a chance to discover the ultimate truth and is free to choose his way back to it. Helpful hints are given but not imposed. In my early days in India, I thought that every Indian knew and valued his tradition. Slowly I realized that I was wrong. The British colonial masters had been successful in not only weaning away many of the elite from their ancient tradition but even making them despise it. It helped that the ‘educated’ class could no longer read the original Sanskrit texts and believed what the British told them. This lack of knowledge and the brainwashing by the British education may be the reason why many ‘modern’ Indians are against anything ‘Hindu’. They don’t realize the difference between western religions that have to be believed (or at least professed) blindly, and which discourage if not forbid their adherents to think on their own and the multi-layered Hindu Dharma which gives freedom and encourages using one’s intelligence. Many of the educated class do not realize that on one hand, westerners, especially those who dream to impose their own religion on this vast country, will applaud them for denigrating Hindu Dharma, because this helps western universalism to spread in India. On the other hand, many westerners, including Church people, very well know the value and surreptitiously appropriate insights from the vast Indian knowledge system, drop the original source and present it either as their own or make it look as if these insights had been known in the west. Rajiv Malhotra of Infinity Foundation has done painstaking research in this field and has documented many cases of “digestion” of Dharma civilization into western universalism. Hindu civilization is gradually being depleted of its valuable, exclusive assets and what is left is dismissed as inferior. If only missionaries denigrated Hindu Dharma, it would not be so bad, as they clearly have an agenda which discerning Indians would detect. But sadly, Indians with Hindu names assist them because they wrongly believe that Hinduism is inferior to western religions. They belittle everything Hindu instead of getting thorough knowledge. As a rule, they know little about their tradition except what the British told them, i.e. that the major features are caste system and idol worship. They don’t realize that India would gain, not lose, if it solidly backed its profound and all inclusive Hindu tradition. The Dalai Lama said some time ago that already as a youth in Lhasa, he had been deeply impressed by the richness of Indian thought. “India has great potential to help the world,” he added. When will the westernized Indian elite realize it? by Maria Wirth

GEN VK SINGH CASE- Has the government committed treason? The Statesman 22 Sep 2013 rajinder puri NOT surprisingly, the controversy created by the media exposure and subsequent official confirmation of the alleged misuse of the Technical Services Division (TSD) by former Army Chief General VK Singh is expected to snowball into a major national crisis. But the crisis may not evolve, as those who leaked the information might imagine. According to The Indian Express that published the report, General Singh had conveyed a warning that if they went ahead and published it, "they will get it in the neck". General Singh reportedly told the Press Trust of India (PTI) news agency that anyone recommending a probe into the functioning of TSD was being nonsensical, because its operations were meant to be secret. General Singh might have enlightened the public a little more. The mere fact that the inquiry into the functioning of TSD was "secret" suggests that the TSD operation was not only secret but probably "top secret". If that is the case, the consequences for the government as well as for media outlets utilised by the government could be very serious. In that event, even the existence of TSD should never have been publicised. Further, if there is exposure of the actual working of the top secret unit, leaking information about it may well be considered treason under law, regardless of whether infromation is true or false. It involves national security. Such information can help the nation's enemies. Even knowledge of the existence of TSD can help the nation's enemies. Did the government factor this aspect into its calculations before rushing to the media with its leaks? The last on this issue has not been heard. Events thus far may be in fact just the start of a crisis that could traumatise the system.

Civilizational Challenge to Hindu Identity

A Civilizational Challenge to Hindu Identity Deolekar has dared to say things that few have in the past dared to utter for fear of being called communalists. His warning is clear. Do not, in the name of secularism, engage in self- destruction. Has the time come in India to stop naming the Muslim community as a minority? At what percentage level can a community be described as a ‘ minority’? In fact, it is claimed, next to Indonesia, India has the second largest Muslim population in the world. According to the 2001 Census, every third person in Assam is a Muslim. Every fourth person in West Bengal and in Kerala is a Muslim. In Uttar Pra ¬ desh in 1991 the districts of Bijnor, Moradabad and Rampur had a Muslim population of as high as 40.34, 48.71 and 47.96 per cent. In six towns in Uttar Pradesh Muslims form the majority. Four of these – Moradabad, Santhal, Amroha and Rampur in 1991 had Muslim population of 55%, 71% and again 71% respectively. The growth of Muslim population in almost all border districts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Assam has created a Muslim belt. The population growth of Muslims in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat where Muslims are educationally and economically better off, according to Madhu Deolekar, author of this reveal ¬ ing book proves that poverty and backwardness are not the real cause of Mus ¬ lim proliferation. Their reluctance to follow family planning is the main reason. In Kerala, Muslim literacy is 89.4%, a little below 90.4 of overall literacy but the growth rate is enormously high at 16%, as against 9% for Kerala as a whole. In Maharashtra, Muslim literacy is 78.1%, higher than the overall literacy of 76.9%. et Muslim population is growing at the rate of 35%. Actually, as Deolekar reports, quoting official figures, contrary to common perception, literacy levels of Muslims is better off than that of Hindus in seven states, namely, Andhra Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa and Tamil Nadu. Muslims, besides, own marginally more lands in Rajasthan and Gujarat. The demographic picture of some of the states is very revealing. Out of the 24 districts of Assam, six districts have 60% Muslim population while another six have about 40%. Bangladesh infiltrators have not only intruded into every nook and corner of Assam, but they have already become kingmakers. Hindus, of course, have been literally driven out of Kashmir by jihadi fundamentalists in lakhs. In 1947 the Hindu population in the Valley was 15%. It came down to 5% in 1981. It has been reduced to 0.1% in 1991. Deolekar quotes a professor from Aligarh University as saying: ” Hindus cannot keep us permanently in a minority… the only solution to Muslim problems is the establishment of an Islamic State in India.” Towards that end Muslims from Bangladesh have been steadily infiltrating into India and now they number more than 5 million. In the normal course, Muslim infiltration would not have raised fears in Hindu minds but, according to Deolekar ” the present state of Hindu- Mnslim relations can best be described as precarious, like a lull before a storm” and ” one does not know where and when hostilities will break out in the country”, with Pakistan, especially, planning to unleash large- scale terrorism in India. Deolekar quotes a noted Muslim reformist, Hamid Dalwai on the Hindu and Muslim mindsets, with the Hindu mind being ” essentially individualistic, indeed narcisstic”. Deolekar himself has a lot to say about Hindus, who, he claims, are ” looked down by the world” as cowards. As he put it: ” Some secularists, Human Rights activists and rootless Hindus do not find anything wrong or dangerous in the growing number of people of alien faiths. They entertain a perverted notion that only a minority community has rights to protect their religious identities. The Majority has no such right to protect its age- old culture, identify and interests.” He also quotes an American scholar, David Frawley as saying that “ a defeatist tendency exists in the psyche of modern Indians perhaps unparalleled in any other country today”. Frawley, one suspects understands the psyche of our modern westernised Hindu – the socalled secularist – very thoroughly. The conclusion seems to be that the worst enemies of India are our secular Hindus. The theme of this book is: A civilizational challenge to Hindu identity. Muslims, it would appear, want to remain Muslim, and may one day even become a majority in India. Asks Frawley, and Deolekar agrees: ” Given such a twisted and self- negative national psyche, can there be any hope for the country? At the surface the situation looks dismal. India appears like a nation without nationalism or at least without any national pride or any real connection to its own history”. Our secularists who hate Hinduism who speak derogatively of Hindutva may do well to read this book, it only to understand how others look at them. In a way this book is a wake- up call, correctly titled: ‘ Wake Up Or Perish’. Deolekar has dared to say things that few have in the past dared to utter for fear of being called communalists. His warning is clear. Do not, in the name of secularism, engage in self- destruction. Hinduism has a great role to play. Play it, with pride remembering India’s past glory. TENDER FOR RUNNING PAKISTAN

Tender for running Pakistan-Article from DAWN Tender No. GOP 2013/193CTR/PTL/TEN/420 Tender Notice for Running the Country The Government of Pakistan requires the service of an International Organisation to run the country for a period of twenty-five years. Country Background: It is generally believed that Pakistan was created for the Muslims of India. However, there is still debate in the country regarding the ideology of Pakistan. Some say that Pakistan came into being so unexpectedly that no one had the time to define its ideology. The state of Pakistan can be categorised as one of the following (or any combination thereof): Islamic Secular Democratic Autocratic Militaristic Autistic Since the creation of Pakistan, following governments have been in place: 1947 – 1948 Mohammed Ali Jinnah, founder of Pakistan was the first head of the state. Unfortunately, he passed away in 1948. 1948 – 1958 During this period 10 governments came and went. During this time a prime minister was assassinated and another exiled. 1958 – 1968 First Military coup and Martial law. The new Chief Martial Law Administrator and later President and Field Marshal, Mohammed Ayub Khan, ruled for ten years. People got sick and tired of dictatorship and went out in the streets calling the gentleman-soldier a dog. This broke his heart and he resigned. He was a decent sort of a chap who enriched only his own family and in return built many dams and a new city. He also authored a book titled “Friends and Masters”. Following the poor performance of the subsequent governments, he is today remembered as a Saint. 1971 The job of running the country became easier as the enslaved half of the country was freed through the goodwill and humanitarianism of the Pakistan military. The freed slaves made their own country called Bangladesh. The people of Bangladesh proved to be very ungrateful and now refuse to play cricket with Pakistan. 1972 – 1977 A young Oxford educated feudal Mr. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto became the Chief Martial Law Administrator and then the Prime Minister. His main strength was his fiery speeches in good English and bad Urdu. He was such a good Muslim that he accepted all the key demands of the clerics like declaring the Ahmedis non-Muslims and banning alcohol. Being a man of conscience he started drinking heavily to lessen the pain of taking such horrid decisions. He also wisely purged all the left wing troublemakers in his party and replaced them with solid, reliable and wise men from the feudal class. 1977 – 1987 Mr. Bhutto’s top general Zia-ul-Haq did not see eye to eye with Mr. Bhutto. One part of the reason was that he was squint eyed and the second that he did not think that Mr. Bhutto was Islamic enough. So he did “Istikhara” (requesting guidance from God) and after receiving permission deposed the Prime Minister in a coup. He announced that elections would take place in 90 days. However, the people were so pleased with the General that they beseeched him to stay. Being a true democrat the General could not turn down the request of the masses and decided to stay on to serve them. Just to make sure that he could serve the people with his full attention he declared that the pesky Mr. Bhutto had hanged himself in a fierce police encounter. Being a very hospitable man, he invited all the Muslim Afghan brethren to live in Pakistan. He also helped them fight the infidels from Russia. He had a rich uncle named Sam who provided the required finances. This pious man would be still in power if it were not for his love of mangoes. He filled up his plane with so many crates of mangoes that it crashed due to the excessive weight. Many in Pakistan were deeply saddened by the loss of such good mangoes. 1988 – 2013 The period from 1947 to 1988 was a game of musical chairs and no one remembers who came and who went and where and why. It is not clear who is running the affairs of Pakistan; in an opinion poll majority felt that it was God. Scope of Work of the Bidder: The bidder will be solely responsible for running the Government of Pakistan. This will include (but not limited to): 1. Disbanding the band of thieves that has been running the country for the past 65 years and deporting them to their home countries like the USA, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Great Britain, and Canada. 2. Ensuring that containers are used for the sole purpose of transporting goods. 3. Banning spitting of phlegm, tobacco, niswar, and paan peek in public places and particularly on stairwells. 4. Removing all garbage strewn around the country and dumping it outside. 5. Arresting all the religious extremists and putting them in a rehabilitation centre run by Doctor Maulana Taqreerul Qadri. 6. Removing all the political talk show anchors and using them as anchors for the boats in the oily waters of Kaemari. 7. Changing the foreign policy from misaligned to non-aligned. 8. Eliminating the police force by making it mandatory for them to have a 32 inch waist. 9. Making Hijab mandatory for men and optional for women. Bidder Qualification: • Bidders from countries deemed to be more corrupt than Pakistan in the Transparency International Rankings will be subject to immediate disqualification. • Bidders from previous colonising countries like Great Britain, The Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and France will be given preference. • Bidders from the USA are not eligible to bid as they are already running the Government of Pakistan. • Bidders from Nigeria need not apply. • The language of the bids can be any as long as it is English. • Influencing the bid evaluation process by means of bribery is strictly prohibited unless it is at least $50 million and made through proper channels. Submission of Tender: • Tenders will be submitted in quadruplicate in hard copy by courier. • As per normal procurement rules 10 per cent of the bid price will be deposited as “goodwill” • Tenders will be submitted to the following address: The Section Officer Services and General Administration Division Pakistan Secretariat Islamabad Closing date for the Tenders is 14 August 2013. Important: If the country disintegrates before the bid closing date, this tender will be considered null and void. ———————————————————————————————————————————————— The author is an engineer turned part-time journalist who likes to hang out at unfashionable places like shrines, railway stations and bus stops.

DEMOGRAPHIC INVASION NORTHEAST INDIA

Demographic invasion of India from the North East By Brig. Amrit Kapur Issue Vol 22.2 Apr-Jun 2007 | Date : 14 Sep , 2013 Six decades of ‘Indian effort’, still Seven Sisters have not been fully integrated with the main landmass. Thousands of crores of money has been pumped into the North East. In fact our Central Govt is indirectly financing the underground governing bodies who de facto continue to rule the roost. The problem has been further accentuated by uncontrolled illegal migration from Bangladesh, the situation in the ‘Gateway to the North East’, the ‘Siliguri Corridor’, where insurgency is brewing and is likely to become a major security concern for our country. Kamtapuri movement is making steady progress in carving out yet another autonomous state by amalgamating six districts of North Bengal viz, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Cooch Behar Maldah, South Dinajpur and North Dinajpur. As per 2001 census the population of India is approximately 1.02 billion, almost three-fold increase in population of 1947. The three-fold increase is attributable to, inadequacy and inconsistency of India’s family planning programme, (bureaucracy had to tow the line of their political masters) illiteracy, religious disbeliefs, backwardness of the people, underprivileged condition of women in India, poor health facility and so on. But no one bothered to mention that one of the reasons is presence of over 26 million Bangladeshi illegal migrants in India. At the time of partition, in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) the Hindu population was 25.6 percent. It got reduced to 14 percent in 1991 and today it has come down to abysmal 7 percent. Bangladesh has the highest density of population in the world, the density of its population is 982 persons per/sq km. North Eastern States on the other hand are sparsely populated with average density of little over 215 persons per sq km. Principle of void theory in law of nature has taken its course. In addition not so good economic conditions in Bangladesh have forced people to embrace more lucrative options. This is not only true for this region, Mexican influx into south western United States of America is most recent phenomenon. Large-scale demographic movement continues to take place in the NE, resulting in demographic imbalance in states. In the state of Tripura imbalance has resulted in “demographic inversion”. After the partition, till 1971, there was a massive population influx caused by political, communal and economic reasons, which created serious ethnicity problems in these states. At the time of partition, in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) the Hindu population was 25.6 percent. It got reduced to 14 percent in 1991 and today it has come down to abysmal 7 percent. Earlier the minority community were literally forced out of East Pakistan (now Bangladesh), primarily due to religious reasons and now mass exodus is taking place due to ‘economic reasons’ by both the communities. Flow of illegal migrants though in small measure continues post 1971 and the progressive cumulative effect is acquiring alarming dimensions. However, when secular democracy was replaced by autocracy following the murder of Sheikh Mujibur Rehman in 1975, hard-core Islamic Fundamentalists were encouraged to infiltrate into North-eastern states to carry out anti national activities and destabilise the democratic system. The bulk of these migrants initially egressed into states bordering Bangladesh. In addition a large number have infiltrated into almost all parts of India including Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow and other cities for greener pastures creating economic and law and order problems. Vote bank politics as usual supersedes national interests. Assam, Tripura, North Bengal and Meghalaya face maximum threat to the security in this region due to illegal migration. Gradually, this malaise is spreading to other states like Sikkim, Mizoram, Manipur and Nagaland. Even landlocked Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan is also sitting on the brink of demographic implosion. Documents and surveys show enough evidence that migrants from Bangladesh are a deciding factor in 23 to 25 Parliamentary and 117 to 127 Assembly Seats in India. Besides the illegal migrants, there are settlers from other states who have come to these states in search of job opportunities have further compounded the ethnic strife. This influx of infiltrators and internal migration have outnumbered the sons of the soil and causing socio-economic tensions and frustrations over employment opportunities. They are also considered threat to the language and culture of NE. This coupled with the inconsistent approach of the Union Government to bring the people of these States into the mainstream continues to catalyse the growth of militancy in the region. Mushrooming madarsas, indoctrination at Pakistan sponsored Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) camps (156 known camps) in Bangladesh and pumping in of counterfeit currency in the region are all indicators that insurgency is once again raising its ugly head and is likely to acquire serious dimensions if not checked, controlled and contained speedily, timely and adequately. ISI is taking full advantage of uncertain situation in Nepal, law of jungle states of northern UP bordering Nepal, Bihar and the North East as also as part of its grand design to shift the focus and centre of gravity to much more vulnerable and sensitive areas as also to relieve the pressure in the western region. This is part of a deliberate nefarious design of the ISI to destabilise most sensitive North East region, seriously threatening secular democratic system in India and threatening “Silliguri corridor”. Documents and surveys show enough evidence that migrants from Bangladesh are a deciding factor in 23 to 25 Parliamentary and 117 to 127 Assembly Seats in India. India shares 4096 km of border with Bangladesh and it costs Rs three crores per km to effectively police this border, i.e., on account of manning of border by policing force, construction and maintenance of border roads, border fencing, riverine patrols, watchtowers and so on. Over three scores of battalions of Border Security Force are presently policing the border which is woefully inadequate. For effective domination and policing requirement is well over 100 battalions. The government has been able to fence only 987 km of this border till now. Rs. 2300 crores are being spent every year in guarding this border. (WB-2217 Kms, Assam-262 Kms, Meghalaya-443 Kms, Tripura-856 Kms, Mizoram-318 Kms). Assam: The Victim of Outsiders Effect Assam is the mother state of the North-East, any instability in this state is bound to have cascading effect in other six sisters. It has 74 percent of total population of the North East. In 1826, Assam was annexed by the British by virtue of the ‘Treaty of Yandabu’ and made part of Bengal presidency. The British in pursuit of their ‘Divide and Rule’ policy, partitioned Bengal in 1905. Assam lost its separate identity and became part of a Muslim dominated East Bengal. In 1911 partition of Bengal was annulled and Assam again became a separate province. Emerging trends in the region indicate that Muslim Fundamentalist Organisations (MFOs) are joining hands with the militants and disgruntled elements of the society to raise anti-India tirade or separatist movements. The British imported tea garden labourers from other provinces, as the Assamese were not willing to work as labourers. They also imported peasants from East Bengal, mostly Muslims, to work on virgin land in Lower Assam to meet the growing demand for food in the wake of the large movement of population. The growth of a large Muslim population in the province helped the Muslim League to gain ascendance in Assam. In the 1940s, the demand for Pakistan as a separate homeland for Muslims gained momentum. The Muslim League wanted Assam to be included in East Pakistan. In 1946, Assam and West Bengal were grouped together. Although, Congress High Command agreed to the grouping, Shri Gopinath Bordoloi, the leader of Assam Congress was quick to see the danger in grouping Assam with Bengal. He rebelled and demanded rejection of grouping plan, thus Muslim League’s plan to get Assam included in East Pakistan was foiled. Zulfikar Ali Bhutto in his book “Myth of Independence” wrote, “It would be wrong to think that Kashmir is the only dispute that divides India and Pakistan. One at least is nearly as important as the Kashmir dispute, that of Assam and some districts of India adjacent to East Pakistan. To these, Pakistan has very good claims. East Pakistan must include Assam to be financially and economically strong”. Wise words, but unfortunately during his lifetime he had to helplessly watch the formation of Bangladesh. The unabated influx of illegal migrants from Bangladesh/East Pakistan has been continuing after Independence. In 1970, the population of East Pakistan was 7.5 crores but in 1974 it had come down to 7.14 crores. On the basis of 3.1 percent annual growth, the population should have gone up to 7.7 crores. The shortfall of 60 lakhs people can be explained only by large-scale migration. The statistical data on demography speaks for itself. Relevance of above data gives further credence to the decadal percentage growth of population of All India, Assam and Bangladesh as under: - You can see from above that the decadal percentage of growth of population in Assam is more than the growth in Bangladesh, except for the period 1971-1981 due to anti-foreigners agitation in the state when these people fled the state and 1991 -2001 obviously due to illegal migration. The community-wise growth rate given as under will give you a better picture of communal imbalance being created in Assam by the immigration of Bangladeshis :- As per the 1991 census, four districts of Assam namely Dhubri, Goalpara, Barpeta and Hailakandi became Muslim majority districts. Two more districts; Nagaon and Karimganj have attained Muslim majority in 1998. These statistics indicate that illegal migrants coming into India after 1971 have been exclusively Muslims. These changes have significantly altered the electoral profile of Assam which is unethically exploited by political parties for their partisan gains compromising the stability of the region.

IS INDIA COLLAPSING

India’s collapse is picking pace. By Gautam Sen (9 September 2013) London: The many-sided collapse of the Indian Union is gathering momentum. The principal cause is the determination of the Nehru-Gandhi clan to remain in power at all cost, even if it means a truncated and battered legacy, i.e., a broken backed and shrunken country. The other immediate underlying cause of India’s unparalleled predicament is the non-existence of an ultimate national executive authority in the shape of a prime minister. This is the reason that I had argued early in the United Progressive Alliance’s rule that it would have been infinitely preferable to have the Congress president as prime minister. It would have prevented the devastating consequences of the prevalent disconnect between power and responsibility. There is nothing personal about the Congress opposition to Narendra Modi. It has everything to do with his threat to their resumption of political power because he virtually assures their political oblivion. Such an outcome is highly likely regardless of whether the Bharatiya Janata Party itself manages to garner enough votes to lead a coalition government. Of course, powerful elements within the BJP national leadership, especially its Delhi cabal, would prefer to remain in Opposition rather than cede primacy to a rank outsider, possibly a person regarded as too humble in origin as well. The collateral damage to India of failing to completely oust the Congress does not apparently perturb them sufficiently. It may be inferred some are scheming discreetly with Congress manipulators to undermine Modi, both evidently sharing disdain for someone regarded as a trespasser. However, they rightly fear he may sweep away the entire dreadful Delhi tweedledum tweedledee detritus that has brought the country to its knees. A Third Front coalition, which Narendra Modi’s intervention will surely bring to power, at the very least, even if the BJP fails to emerge dominant, poses an almost equally serious quandary for the incumbent UPA. Such a third front will not be able to resist the temptation to deliver a coup de grace to the remnants of a bloodied Congress cadaver. That would indeed be the politically astute move to secure its own longevity at the Centre and in the states. Besides, some leaders of a possible third front coalition harbour deep animus at the abuse of power by the Congress to keep them in line, in order to retain its stranglehold. Many also have indignant memories of the barely concealed contempt of the Congress retinue surrounding 10 Janpath for their social origins and lack of cosmopolitan deportment. It may even be surmised from past experience that despite the manifest venality of some of these political leaders they may be less prone to surrender India to foreign interests. They mostly do not possess the wherewithal to flee to Swiss retreats if the worst comes to the worst and will be obliged to fight their Indian corner. Without a shadow of doubt even Mayawati and Mulayam will be a vast improvement on the pathetic, puppet Manmohan Singh. The shocking disarray into which Sonia Gandhi and her dismal crew have cast India needs little rehearsing to illustrate the interconnectedness of outwardly discrete damaging events. The destruction of the Indian economy is the result of massive corruption, prime ministerial inaction, amounting to personal culpability, which ended in policy paralysis. Shockingly, 10 Janpath and its disgraceful family retainers have mobilized barefaced policy gurus from India and abroad to endorse policies that led to the dreadful situation that has befallen India. The growth versus equity debate is an absurdity of which India’s half-educated news anchors and editorialists have no clue, but incessantly ventilate like possessed parrots. For a long time, it has been widely agreed that trade-offs do exist and have to be managed with a measure of caution and circumspection. It does not mean unrestricted government borrowing to fund politically-motivated misspending that adds nothing to productivity and leaks fraudulently in the bargain. The symptomatic run on the rupee has made it impossible to conceal the utter ruin of the Indian economy. Predictably, suspect opportunistic remedies are being touted with alacrity, especially encouragement to short-term capital flows that will only deepen structural disjunctures of the Indian economy. Yet, these panicky measures are being hailed for their alleged sagacity, without regard to their troubling implications for long-term Indian economic autonomy. They essentially amount to what a banana republic does when international events impact harshly on a country overwhelmed by its own domestic incompetence. The repudiation of solemn promises on sourcing and infrastructure development in retail FDI is but one example of the treasonous lack of concern for future generations, displayed by a prime minister without either a vestige of credibility or moral integrity left. The foisting of a former IMF chief economist on India looks suspiciously like what may become their own petard! The growing evidence of political paralysis and seizure of Indian decision-making is the backdrop to the evident belligerence of its neighbours. These are the circumstances that encourage probing by hostile neighbours to advance goals against an enemy. And this is exactly what China and Pakistan are doing in cahoots with each other. In this context, it is highly unlikely that the essentially hard line Nawaz Sharif is seriously at odds with the historical goals of Pakistan’s military establishment vis-a-vis India though he may be seeking to exercise greater personal control over it. Differences with the military do not mean serious disagreements over policy towards India that enjoys the support of most Pakistanis, i.e., detaching Kashmir from it and being an effective competitor with it, however forbidding an aspiration. Precipitating tensions through serial ceasefire violations and increased infiltration to cause mayhem are an initial phase before more serious confrontation takes place. Such friction between two nuclear powers, one of them highly unstable, which the world already views with grave disquiet, is the apt setting for inviting international intervention to change the status quo. China is also possibly getting ready to cauterize India politically by offering a border settlement that India’s supine political and bureaucratic leadership will find irresistible. This prospect might explain the latter’s duplicitous insouciance and relaxed view of incremental territorial losses to Chinese aggression. A border settlement will be intended to remove India from the Asian equation of opponents to China’s regional dominance that requires accounts to be settled with Japan first and foremost. India’s bonhomie with it has evidently prompted unease in Beijing. The on-going contemporary aggression is designed to frighten India before its military modernization has taken place, which Chinese defence planners have openly declared will mature around 2017. Indeed, one of China’s generals advocated attacking India before that happens, in the presence of a Chinese Harvard scholar who was recommending the charms of Indian democracy to an audience in China. China has apparently worked out which bits of disputed territory along the LAC it would like to have and is making moves to ensure a fait accompli. Changes to the extant LAC status quo being imposed militarily by China will seem paltry in the context of an overall settlement that will nevertheless favour it. The seditious nominal rulers in Delhi, who are selling the country down the river, are likely to have given some sort of undertaking that would also entail unprecedented betrayal of the Tibetan government-in-exile once the Dalai Lama has left the scene. It is this issue which has always been the real foundation of Sino-Indian discord rather than the border, which was a symptom of it, once China had gained the Aksai Chin it sought for strategic reasons. In the meantime, a thoroughly besieged Iranian regime, a beneficiary of Indian solicitousness in recent years, has displayed unexpected loathing for it. The vacuity of the implied ingenuity of Indian diplomacy, actually amounting to nothing but self-doubt and a tendency to concede, while feigning an aura of honour, stands embarrassingly exposed. By contrast, Iranian diplomacy is much more hardnosed than anything India can muster despite Iran’s apparent international isolation. It is also abundantly clear that trifling Gulf statelets harbour nothing but derision for India and allow the Pakistani ISI and their surrogates from India free reign to plot against it from their jurisdictions. And why shouldn’t they, when so many high and mighty Indians avail their banking services to launder loot, purchase garish abodes along the Arabian Gulf coast and venerated Mumbai starlets gyrate before portly local audiences for hard cash? India’s domestic insurgencies and political difficulties are another dimension that its enemies have always studied assiduously and helped exacerbate with unstinting support. Maoists, jihadis, counterfeiters and assorted diehard anti-nationals meet routinely to coordinate their assaults on the Indian state. These assignations occur in Gulf cities, Kathmandu, Dhaka, etc., under the aegis of Sino-Pak agencies who fund and oversee the individuals involved. They have, in turn, spawned human rights advocates, who take up the cudgels on their behalf whenever the need arises. These local anti-Indian surrogates are usually paid activists, often with high-level establishment connections. Some of them have been ideologically brainwashed by academics in respectable institutions abroad at the instigation of their national intelligence agencies, with which many, for example, in the UK, are routinely engaged. In the recent past, I read two suspect books on the India-China dispute, patronised by a major publisher and written by Indian authors of modest academic credentials. These stealthily sought to discredit India’s established viewpoint in favour of laboured legal interpretations according primacy to the question of historically “undemarcated” territory and India’s allegedly illegitimate “forward policy”. All of a piece and extremely sinister, yet the incumbent UPA government, besieged on numerous fronts and patently unable to deal with any, remains obscenely fixated on hounding Narendra Modi. And it seems quite indifferent to its cost to a nation in the gravest danger for many generations
