The subversive operations of the UFWD and Chinese intelligence agencies a serious threat

 

The UFWD has also been accused of carrying out cyber attacks to steal sensitive information from governments and businesses. For example, in 2017, the Chinese government was accused of hacking into the Democratic National Committee's computer systems in an attempt to influence the 2016 US presidential election.

Chinese intelligence agencies conduct cyber espionage to gain access to sensitive information related to India's political, military, and economic affairs.

In a well executed cyber offensive Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has busted, biggest dark net Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) cartel Zambada. The NCB has seized a record 29 thousand 13 LSD blots along with 472 grams of MDMA powder and 51 lakh 38 thousand rupees drug money from accused persons. This is the second major Indian LSD cartel to be busted in a span of three months.Zambada is the only Indian LSD cartel on the darknet rated five star by illicit consumers and traffickers. The NCB has also arrested 22 Indians involved in import and Pan India distribution of Drugs. The cartel comprises of young men aged between 21 and 25 years with a technical education background.

Covert Influence Campaigns: Chinese agencies  use covert tactics to influence Indian politicians, media outlets, academics, and business leaders to promote pro-China narratives and anti Indian government narrative and downplay Chinese criticism and highlight government short comings and failures.

Disinformation and Propaganda: Through social media and other online platforms, they spread disinformation and propaganda to shape public opinion in India favorably towards China and its policies.

Infiltration of Organizations: Chinese agencies attempt to infiltrate Indian organizations, think tanks, and cultural institutions to exert influence and control over their activities.

Encouraging Divisive Elements: They  support or exploit existing divisive elements within Indian society like the Naxals to create discord and weaken the country's social fabric.

Use of Front Organizations: Chinese agencies utilize front organizations, businesses, or cultural associations to conceal their true intentions and activities.

Cultivating Relationships: Agents may establish relationships with influential individuals in India, using various means such as bribery, blackmail, or leveraging business interests.

Exploiting Corruption: They may exploit corruption within Indian institutions to gain insider information or to manipulate decision-making processes.

Exploiting Diaspora Communities: Chinese agencies might attempt to influence Indian diaspora communities, both to promote pro-China sentiments and to exert pressure on the Indian government from abroad.
