UN Secretary General "strong advocate" for UNSC permanent seat for India

 

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed support for India's inclusion in the permanent seat of the UN Security Council. Guterres has been advocating for reforms in the Security Council to reflect the current global landscape. India has also called for reforms, stating the need for a council that represents the geographical and developmental diversity of the UN. India's Permanent representative to the UN, Ruchira Kamboj, emphasized the importance of developing countries having a voice in the Security Council.
