see if the child is truly motivated or just following parents' orders.
- Who
is your role model and why? (Encourage them to pick someone with
leadership traits).
- What
will you do if you are not selected today? (Tests resilience; the
answer should be "I will work harder and try again for the next
entry").
- How
will you manage living away from your parents at such a young age?
(Crucial for boarding school life).
- Tell
me about your best friend. (Tests their ability to bond with peers).
2. Situation Reaction (SRT)
These test the child's presence of mind and ethics.
- If
you see your friend cheating in an exam, what will you do?
- If
you are the captain of a losing football team, how will you motivate them?
- If
you find a 100-rupee note on the school playground, what is your first
step?
3. General Knowledge & Current Affairs
Since the interview is in late February, they should be
aware of immediate events.
- The
Budget: Who presents the Union Budget of India?
- Geography:
Name the five Rashtriya Military Schools. (Chail, Ajmer, Belgaum,
Bengaluru, Dholpur).
- Defense:
Who is the current Chief of Army Staff? What is the motto of the Indian
Army? (Service Before Self).
- National
Symbols: Who wrote the National Anthem vs. the National Song?
4. Academic & Logical Reasoning
Since you mentioned they check Science and Math knowledge:
- Math:
Simple mental math like $12 \times 8$ or the area of a square with side
$5\text{ cm}$.
- Science:
Difference between a herbivore and carnivore; why do we see lightning
before we hear thunder?
- Language:
Ask them to translate a simple sentence from English to Hindi or vice
versa on the spot.
