 Counter measures to counter the subversive operations of the Chinese UFWD 


Increased public awareness of UFWD activities. Government and civil society organizations need to raise awareness of the UFWD's activities in order to educate the public about the risks and to help people identify and resist UFWD influence, so that people can be more critical of information that comes from front organizations or individuals with ties to the Chinese government.

Strengthening of laws to protect national security. Government needs to strengthen their laws to protect national security from the threat of foreign interference. This includes laws that criminalize espionage, sabotage, and other forms of subversion. India needs to strengthen  laws to protect national security from foreign interference. This includes laws that make it illegal to accept foreign funding for political activities. 

Increased cooperation between countries to share intelligence. India needs to increase cooperation with western world to share intelligence about the UFWD and Chinese intelligence agencies. This will help us to better understand the threat and to take coordinated action to counter it.

Diversify trade relations. This will reduce the countries' dependence on China and make it more difficult for China to use economic coercion.

Work together with other countries in the region. This will allow the countries to share information and coordinate their response to Chinese threats.

Monitoring and Transparency: The Indian government should closely monitor activities of organizations with suspected links to the Chinese UFWD and intelligence agencies and increase transparency about foreign funding and influence.

Countering Disinformation: India can implement public awareness campaigns to educate citizens about the risks of disinformation and promote media literacy.

Screening and Vetting: Organizations, institutions, and political parties should implement thorough screening and vetting processes to detect potential infiltration attempts.

Engagement with Diaspora: The Indian government should maintain active engagement with its diaspora communities, promoting Indian values and interests while addressing concerns raised by the diaspora.

Collaboration with Allies: India should collaborate with other democratic nations facing similar challenges to counter Chinese subversive activities collectively.

Intelligence Sharing: Collaborating with other democracies to share intelligence on Chinese subversive activities can enhance India's understanding and preparedness.

Monitoring and Regulating Foreign Funding: India can establish robust mechanisms to scrutinize and regulate foreign funding for organizations, think tanks, and NGOs to minimize undue influence.

 Counter intelligence  Counter Influence Operations: Strengthening domestic counterintelligence efforts can help identify and neutralize Chinese efforts to infiltrate key institutions.

Diplomatic Engagement: India can engage in dialogues with China to address concerns related to subversive activities and emphasize the importance of respecting sovereignty and non-interference in each other's affairs.

 Strengthening Democratic Resilience: Fostering a strong democratic culture that encourages open debate, inclusivity, and transparency can help resist external attempts to undermine democratic values.
