What Are the Duties of Patriotic Citizens During No-War, No-Peace Time and During War?

A. During No-War, No-Peace Time (e.g., Post-Uri, Post-Balakot Periods)

Be Informed and Alert: Follow credible news sources and avoid fake propaganda. Understand the national security landscape.

Cyber Vigilance: Avoid forwarding fake news or unverified social media content that can destabilize public morale or aid the enemy.

Volunteerism: Join NCC, Home Guards, or civil defence organisations; contribute to community preparedness programs.

Economic Participation: Support Atmanirbhar Bharat and indigenous defence industries. Discourage dependence on foreign goods.

Promote National Unity: Avoid spreading divisive content. National unity is the biggest psychological deterrent.

B. During War

Maintain Public Order: Don’t spread panic. Support the administration’s instructions (blackouts, rationing, curfews, etc.).

Cyber & Media Discipline: Don’t post military movements or operational details online—these can be exploited by adversaries.

Support War Efforts: Blood donations, relief supplies, civil volunteering, and boosting troop morale through letters, donations, etc.

Counter-Propaganda Role: Actively defend India’s image on international and domestic platforms. Debunk false narratives.

Conclusion

India’s strategic challenges—from Pakistan’s proxy wars to China’s cyber aggression—require a long-term, integrated national approach. Military operations like Operation Sindoor can serve as powerful statements, but enduring security rests on the active participation of the citizenry in safeguarding the nation’s interests across physical, digital, and ideological domains.
